We develop our programmes to reflect the latest best practice policies of the HSE. New Directions is a HSE document outlining the future for adult personal support services for people with disabilities.
New Directions places a greater emphasis on making sure that individuals can be part of their communities where possible. The guiding principal is that individuals will be supported in a“flexible, responsive and person-centred” way.

Aspire is The Asperger Syndrome Association of Ireland (http://aspireireland.ie). They help support people with Asperger Syndrome lead independent lives.
Asperger Syndrome is a pervasive developmental disorder at the high functioning end of the Autistic Spectrum. Individuals with the syndrome can experience significant difficulties with social interaction, communication and flexible thinking.
People with the syndrome can be characterised by their impairments in social situations as well as having stereotyped patterns of behaviour and obsessional interests.
Many people with the syndrome have average intelligence or above but lack social and communication skills as well as the ability to empathise and relate to others. It has been suggested that the root of these issues lies with an inability to read emotions in others and to understand their own feelings. However, with the proper support and early intervention, people with Asperger Syndrome can lead full and productive lives.
